Thomas Edison\u2019s son used to tell the story that when his Dad was working in his laboratory on some experiments that he could not get to come out right, he would work late into the night and often sleep in the lab. One night the lab caught fire. Of course, the place was full of chemicals and other materials that were highly flammable, and the whole building went up in a huge blaze. Apparently, the fire was so big it could be seen for miles. Fire department from several different communities came to try to put out the fire, but they couldn\u2019t stop it because there wasn\u2019t enough water pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At first they couldn\u2019t find Mr. Edison, and they were getting really concerned about him.\u00a0 But then his son found him standing off to the side watching the fire.\u00a0 And the son said, \u201cDaddy, are you all right?\u201d\u00a0 And when Mr. Edison said, \u201cI\u2019 fine,\u201d the son said, \u201cThe laboratory is burning to the ground.\u00a0 What are we going to do?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cGo get your mother,\u201d<\/strong> Mr. Edison said.\u00a0 \u201cTell her this is the biggest fire I\u2019ve ever seen.\u00a0 Tell her we may not have an opportunity to see one this big again\u201d.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n And the next day, after the fire was out, he started building a new laboratory.\u00a0 He must have been pretty confident to have that kind of attitude.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t look at the adversity, but only at the opportunity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Thomas Edison\u2019s son used to tell the story that when his Dad was working in his laboratory on some experiments that he could not get to come out right, he would work late into the night and often sleep in the lab.
